Women’s Health Journey

The woman’s health journey is closely entwined with our reproductive health and hormones. Learn about the different stages and health challenges that women encounter throughout life. Conventional medicine offers several screenings to catch disease early. Natural medicine can help you boost your vitality and resilience. Under the guidance of a qualified professional, it can also treat many health conditions, both acute and chronic.

Monday, February 24, 7:00-8:30pm

Whole Foods Nutrition

You are what you eat! In addition to movement and stress management, nutrition builds the foundation for good health. Learn about the pillars of a health-promoting approach to nourishment informed by ancestral diets that can be tweaked according to your needs. Nutritional supplements will also be covered.

Monday, March 16, 7:00-8:30pm

Botanical Medicine

Before the recent development of pharmaceutical medicine, people around the world relied primarily or exclusively on plants to treat illness and promote longevity. Many different traditions developed and continue to play a role in healthcare today. We will focus on Chinese medicine and naturopathic botanical therapy. You will learn about several herbs you can start using safely right away.

Monday, April 6, 7:00-8:30pm

Aromatherapy

Closely related to botanical medicine, actually a subspecialty in this field, is the use of essential oils for therapeutic purposes. We use these extracts externally or for inhalation to relieve physical and mental-emotional symptoms. With the right knowledge and precautions, some of these oils can even be used during pregnancy and postpartum.

Monday, April 27, 7:00-8:30pm

Homeopathy

Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician active more than 200 years ago, laid the foundation for homeopathy, a widely practiced healthcare system in Europe and South Asia. Homeopathic medicines are highly diluted and stimulate the body’s self-healing forces energetically. While well-chosen homeopathics can be very effective, they are also generally quite safe and can become part of your self-care once you begin to familiarize yourself with important remedies.

Monday, May 18, 7:00-8:30pm

Auricular Therapy

What a mouthful! But this therapy uses the ear, not the mouth. Auricular therapy is one of the microsystems in Chinese (and European) acupuncture. We will look at the ear’s auricle to learn how the dozens of recognized points relate to the body’s internal organs and systems. We will use seeds instead of needles to stimulate some of these points helpful for stress and pain relief.
